About the study
The kneepain study was originally a combination of two studies examining the thoughts, beliefs and brain activity of people who have experienced knee pain for 6-weeks or more and exhibit signs of pain-related fear of movement. The qualitative component of the study has now finished and we are concentrating on examining peoples' brain activity.
The study involves having people with kneecap pain undergo brain scans (called functional magnetic resonance imaging) while watching videos of people doing activities that typically aggravate knee pain.
